In one study participated by 1,010 people, it has been found that incorporating dietary turmeric into diet can lower the prevalence of dementia. Research involving animal studies proved that curcumin can improve neurogenesis or the birth of new neurons (brain cells) by increasing the level of BDNF (brain derived neurotropic factor). Low BDNF is associated to serious brain diseases such as dementia, OCD, schizophrenia and major depression.
