13. Garbanzo Beans / Chickpeas
A prominent legume in most Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines, chickpeas are among the most concentrated plant-based source of protein. A one-third cup of chickpeas contains about 5 grams of protein, almost as much as the amount of protein for one ounce of meat. It is great addition to salad, for making homemade hummus or simply roasting them with curry powder.
