Psyllium Husk
Psyllium husk holds a plethora of colon health benefits. It has been proven to support colon cancer, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome, high cholesterol, constipation, ulcerative colitis, obesity and atherosclerosis. Similar to oat bran and flax seed, the fiber present in psyllium husk is soluble. It is a bulking fiber which means that once ingested, it forms a gelatinous mass in the colon by holding water. The husk will then ‘scrub’ the intestines and clean the intestinal tract.
How to Use It?
In a 250ml of water, add 2 to 3 tablespoon of Psyllium husk. Stir vigorously and drink it quickly before it starts gelling inside your tummy. Psyllium must be taken on an empty stomach, preferably 30 minutes to one hour before meal.
