9 Cycling Tips for Beginners

Obey cycling laws

This might seem like a no-brainer, but knowing your city or state’s cycling laws keeps you safe. Practice hand signals if you will be riding on the road. Be sure to get a well-fitted helmet to wear, and consider getting elbow pads just in case. Be sure to chain your bicycle in appropriate locations between rides so it’s not removed by authorities. If you’re riding off-road, be sure you understand trail rules and stick to them.
